An Indiscreet Question

Have you ever felt scrutinized from within by someone else’s morbid curiosity? This is the core of the work, which features a golden goddess staring directly at the observer, the space torn apart by her imposing presence.

Is it the human profile that breaks the curtain of reality and tries to reveal what lies behind, or is it the goddess who— with her steady and fixed eyes on us— tries to see beyond our barriers and pushes us to examine our own psyche to find answers we wouldn’t have admitted to ourselves?

“An Indiscreet Question” is one of Daniel Salvi’s favorite works because it combines all aspects of his production: the representation of emotions through the timeless idolization of the human figure and the representation of the inner world through a dreamlike landscape.
