Fading Memories of Her

She is gone, vanished; no longer a sound, a voice. Only the image of her eyes remains, and even that is fading away as fast as everything else. A hand tries to grasp that last memory, but it’s all futile: soon the fleeting memories of her will perish in the fog of the past.

Becoming strangers again after having known each other: this is the experience to which Daniel Salvi alludes in this work, which becomes a female portrait without actually being one.

The eyes are the mirror of the soul, and indeed the soul of the person encountered becomes the last hold for the memory to remain and not flee forever.
