A letter is clenched in the hands of a young woman, shocked. In the background, a demon whispers in her ear: jealousy has arrived.

Salvi portrays the emotion of jealousy as an external disturbance in the quiet of the psyche, something that has seeped into the soul due to a reason foreign to previous peace. Anything could be written on the letter, but it’s evident that it could be a revealing message indicating that her romantic feelings are in jeopardy.

The resulting anger and thoughts are those of a beast, not of a human, and lurk in the shadows of appearances: nothing has changed on the surface, but internally jealousy tears and corrodes everything, leaving only despair.
