Lamia’s Revenge

Abandoned, forgotten, Lamia has finally accomplished her revenge, bringing to an end the life of the loved one in a final suffocating embrace. Split in half between beast and human, Lamia’s feelings are also divided: she suffers for the loss, but rejoices in pride for the accomplishment of her own wrath.

In the desolate, dark, and stunned land, the only light is Lamia herself. As if coming out of the cocoon of her beastliness, she strips off the mantle of blood she has clothed herself in, to be reborn to new life. Just as she has been deprived of the love that gave her breath, so she decided to suffocate the source of feeling before returning to herself.

Lamia is the symbol of unrequited love, which only if forgotten—and therefore killed—can lead to the rebirth of the individual.
