Whispers in the Darkness

A young girl, sitting on the bed yet caught by sleep, is overwhelmed by a spectral breeze. Two figures, almost completely enveloped in darkness, whisper and torment the psyche with contrasting calls.

“Whispers in the Darkness” is Salvi’s first work where the interplay between visible and invisible is apparent: the dark specters are indeed present, but almost imperceptible, as if they only existed in the sleepwalking protagonist’s mind. Are these manifestations of her dreams? Of her memories? Of her inner struggle between two conflicting desires?

The young girl’s spirit gets lost, at the same time lulled and controlled by these emotions, while a cold light envelops her, opening the scene towards her invisible and incomprehensible origin.
