Extravaganza (A Wednesday night)

A dream. To the artist’s real night, is added the unreal night of his vision, which dynamically alternates two disconnected figures: the Orchid Woman and the running of rails in desolate fields.

To the whirlwind of the train’s movement, suggested and foreseen by the presence of the railway, overlaps the calm and enigmatic look of the young woman collected in her suspended world. At the center of the bipartite composition, the Moon becomes the observer.

In this composition, Salvi returns to physically unite the image of the woman and the flower, creating an ideal hybrid between the two and communicating both their beauty and the fear of their transience.
